Below are some of the essential responsibilities:

Empowering individuals who require assistance to maximize their independence and enabling genuine choices in their daily lives. Assisting our clients in engaging with and participating in their local communities, while also helping them secure and maintain stable housing. Providing support to ensure financial stability, including aiding clients in accessing their benefits, managing rent and household expenses, and addressing debts. Guiding and encouraging our clients to live autonomously. Keeping precise records of the support provided, along with maintaining risk assessments and support plans. Collaborating with partner organizations such as local councils and healthcare services.

To excel in the Community Engagement Support Specialist role, candidates should ideally have experience in a similar capacity supporting individuals with persistent mental health needs. However, we welcome applicants eager to embark on a new career path within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities sector. A foundational understanding of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, along with the associated challenges, would be advantageous. Candidates should be adept at challenging negative perceptions and providing positive behavioral support, while consistently demonstrating a compassionate and supportive demeanor. Strong communication and listening skills are essential, as is the ability to offer guidance to assist our clients.

A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are mandatory for this role, as travel to various clients is required.

This is an exciting time to join Longhurst Group. We are continuously striving to achieve better outcomes for our clients, and the Social Housing sector is currently experiencing significant changes with new measures, regulations, and standards being implemented.
