About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Operator to join our production team at our Lancaster site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating a paper manufacturing machine to ensure the production of high-quality recycled tissue.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the papermaking process and be able to identify faults and make suggestions for remedy. You will also be responsible for providing suitable and sufficient cover for the Team Leader in their absence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating the Paper Machine to a high standard of safety and good housekeeping.
  • Understanding the entire papermaking process.
  • Identifying faults and making suggestions for remedy.
  • Providing suitable and sufficient cover for the Team Leader in their absence.
  • Testing each reel manufactured off the Paper Machine, recording, analyzing, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure the product meets the required specification.
  • Starting up and shutting down the Paper Machine safely and efficiently.
  • Leading and/or assisting with Paper Machine clothing changes as necessary.
  • Undertaking appropriate Risk Assessments and managing risks effectively.
Essential Skills

The successful candidate will possess:

  • NVQ Level 2, including Math's, English, and IT or equivalent.
  • A high level of competency and understanding of all Production departments.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving ability.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable skills include:

  • A current Fork Lift Truck License.
  • H&S qualification.
  • LEAN understanding.
