We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in Haringey. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing individualized attention, and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities, fostering a love for learning.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized learning environment, promoting a sense of community and respect.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, especially in an educational setting, is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Willingness to collaborate with teachers and support staff, promoting a team-based approach to education.
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, valuing diversity and promoting equality.
  • Experience working with SEN students is welcome, but not essential.
