About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEN unit within our mainstream school. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, both in individual and group settings, to facilitate their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with SEN, facilitating their learning and development.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils within the SEN unit.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support pupils' holistic development, including their social, emotional, and academic progress.
