We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to provide critical support to children and families experiencing domestic abuse in a rewarding agency role. This position offers a competitive rate of £38 per hour and requires Social Work England registration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert social work support to children and families at risk due to domestic abuse, ensuring a comprehensive response.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency colleagues from children's social care, health, education, police, and community organisations to promote safety and well-being.
  • Offer guidance and best practice support to the wider workforce dealing with domestic abuse cases, contributing to daily duty support and risk assessment.
  • Represent children's social care at forums like MARAC, MAPPA, and daily risk meetings, contributing to risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Lead on assessments involving complex cases such as honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation, alongside locality teams.
  • Deliver and support learning initiatives, including the Caring Dads Programme, and help disseminate its outcomes and insights.
  • Stay informed on local and national policies and practices related to domestic abuse to ensure the service aligns with the latest standards.
  • Extensive experience in social work, particularly with cases of domestic abuse, is essential.
  • Excellent risk assessment and safety planning capabilities are required.
  • Commitment to supporting the ongoing development and training of the wider service is necessary.
