Penderels Trust is seeking a dedicated support assistant to provide assistance to a young boy diagnosed with autism and ADHD. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the child's engagement with the community and ensuring safe school transportation.
Role Responsibilities:- Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support the child in both educational and recreational activities.
- Encourage social skills and foster independence.
- Build a trusting and respectful relationship with the child.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Respect the child's privacy and uphold confidentiality.
- Ability to work autonomously while adhering to guidance.
- Exhibit patience, compassion, and a supportive demeanor.
- Possess strong listening skills and empathy.
- Prior experience in caregiving is not mandatory.
- Adaptable and self-driven.
A valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.
Given the nature of this role, a satisfactory DBS disclosure is required. Flexibility and a readiness to adjust to the child's needs on a daily basis are essential.
