Are you an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Store Manager or a Team Leader seeking a new opportunity? We are looking for a hands-on, vibrant individual with a lead-by-example mentality for this prominent organization. Our client has been a staple in the retail industry since the 1960s, establishing a strong presence in London's lively Chinatown. Over the past several decades, they have expanded significantly, opening various locations across the UK and becoming one of the country's most diverse food retailers.
As an Assistant Store Manager in this people-centric organization, you will inspire and motivate your team to deliver exceptional service to every customer. Representing this growing brand, you will be friendly, approachable, and confident in leading and inspiring a team to meet store performance indicators.
With a background in food retail or a fast-paced retail environment, you will be driven by your career aspirations and ready to immerse yourself in the company culture and values.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese (essential)
- A natural leader with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate a high-performing team
- A strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Experience in a service-oriented environment focused on efficiency without sacrificing quality
- Current supervisory or management experience with a desire for career advancement
- A positive attitude, passionate about people and achieving success both individually and as a team
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to go above and beyond, with a passion for achieving targets
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of meeting objectives
- A commitment to enhancing customer experience and delivering retail excellence
- Overseeing, coaching, and developing a diverse team, from recruitment through training and beyond
- Implementing staff disciplinary procedures when necessary
- Ensuring all team members are multi-skilled and capable of fulfilling various roles within the store
- Guaranteeing that all staff are knowledgeable about the products and services offered
- Assisting the management team in evaluating performance and maximizing resources
- Conducting team appraisals within established timeframes
- Managing a store recognized as 'best in class', maximizing sales opportunities while maintaining high standards
- Understanding customer needs and setting exceptional service standards
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet customer expectations
- Identifying business opportunities and assisting the Area Manager in monitoring competition
- Managing stock levels and minimizing waste
- Driving customer service excellence to achieve sales and exceed satisfaction targets
- Identifying potential in staff, supporting their development to reach their goals
