The Norfolk Companies/Norfolk Kitchen & Bath could be your next career destination. As a family-owned enterprise with a legacy spanning over 85 years, we are actively seeking dependable, customer-focused individuals to join our delivery team as Delivery Support Specialists in Braintree.

Your workday will commence at 6:30 am (Monday-Friday), where you will review your daily route, complete necessary vehicle inspections, and ensure all products are prepared for delivery. Safety is paramount, and verifying your load is essential.

Each Delivery Support Specialist will collaborate with a driver to guarantee timely, safe, and complete deliveries. This position involves regular heavy lifting, as items typically weigh between 45-60 lbs. You will also engage with customers regarding specific instructions for the placement of materials.

Our company utilizes mobile delivery technology, so being tech-savvy is essential for managing confirmations, GPS navigation, and communication. Organizational skills are crucial for successful deliveries and completing electronic documentation for each order.

Requirements:

  • Safely operate equipment and ensure loads are secure at all times.
  • Manage all electronic communications while the vehicle is in motion, as drivers are prohibited by law from using cell phones during this time. Assist with GPS programming and optimal route planning.
  • Stay vigilant for changing road conditions, hazards, and low bridges. Assist the driver when backing up or maneuvering near structures, always monitoring for obstructions.
  • Help the driver deliver items to customer locations, ensuring no damage occurs to merchandise or property while maintaining professionalism.
  • Assist in picking up merchandise from customers or vendors, verifying items against sales orders or packing slips and inspecting for damage before leaving the site.
  • Maintain physical fitness to perform daily delivery tasks.
  • Lift 45-60 lbs regularly, with the ability to manage up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Exhibit strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Read and comprehend English; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Utilize handheld devices for delivery recordkeeping and manage texts and emails as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen.
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close and night vision.
  • Work environment noise levels are typically moderate to heavy.
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly required to walk distances exceeding 200 yards on various surfaces.
  • Frequently required to lift and carry fragile items weighing over 80 pounds.
  • Regularly required to climb stairs for product delivery.
  • Exposed to heavy equipment such as delivery vehicles.
  • Regular exposure to construction materials and sites.
  • Subject to post-accident drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.
  • Required to wear safety gear as mandated by delivery locations.
