Class 1 Driver Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across the UK, ensuring compliance with road and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Transportation: Safely operate Class 1 vehicles for the transport of goods, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, reporting any issues to management.
  • Route Management: Follow scheduled routes and deliver goods on time, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload cargo using appropriate handling equipment, taking care to avoid damage or loss.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all UK driving regulations, including tachograph laws, and report any non-compliance to management.
  • Communication: Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate with the logistics team, providing updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving license and Driver CPC qualification, with a valid tachograph card.
  • Experience: Previous experience in long-haul or multi-drop driving, with a strong understanding of UK road networks and driving regulations.
  • Skills: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, with good time management and customer service skills.
