CK Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse to join our team. As a Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and support in the comfort of patients' homes.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Assessment: Undertake thorough clinical assessments of patients' needs to ensure safe and effective care.
- Training and Education: Conduct training sessions to educate patients and carers on safe self-medication practices, including the administration of oral tablets and management of side effects.
- Support and Care: Provide ongoing support to patients through a combination of telephone, clinic-based, and home visits, as per product and client protocols.
- Home Environment Assessment: Assess patients' home environments to ensure they are safe and suitable for home IV oncology treatment.
- Line Care: Complete line care for all IV oncology patients, ensuring lines are clean and clear.
- Medication Administration: Administer all IV oncology medications for patients undergoing IV cancer treatment.
- Blood Results and Transfusions: Check blood results and make decisions on whether critical levels are within safe parameters to continue treatment. Liaise with referring consultants on any concerns around treatment or if patients are too unwell to receive medication.
- Qualifications: RGN part 1 NMC Register and Chemotherapy delivery qualification.
- Experience: Experience in administering oncology medication, either in hospital or community environment, and undertaking clinical assessments and administering sub-cutaneous injections.
- Clinical Skills: Clinical skills required include clinical assessment, administering I.V. injections, administering chemotherapy, cannulation, and phlebotomy skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of therapies relevant to service offering, including NHS knowledge relating to the management of patients with treated conditions.
- Competitive Salary: A basic salary of £38,480 - £42,640.
