Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of staff, you will work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one or group support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support to SEND students in a classroom setting or through one-on-one interventions. This will involve assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to SEND students to help them overcome learning barriers and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of IEPs to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
  • Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEND students in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability are necessary to meet individual student needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND training are preferred but not essential.
