Paisley, Renfrewshire, United Kingdom Kibble Full time

About Us

Kibble is dedicated to providing exceptional early learning and childcare services. We are currently in search of a passionate and skilled Senior Early Years Practitioner to enhance our professional early learning and childcare team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the foundational stages of a pioneering educational initiative.

The Senior Early Years Practitioner will play a vital role in assisting the Nursery Manager with the oversight and advancement of the centre. This includes shaping the vision and educational approach in collaboration with staff, children, and stakeholders. You will provide essential support, mentorship, and leadership to the team while managing the centre in the Nursery Manager's absence.

In this role, you will aid the Nursery Manager in the Quality Monitoring and Improvement planning process, contributing to the development and administration of office systems, budget oversight, and necessary statistical reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years' experience working with children aged 0-5 in a relevant environment, alongside a comprehensive understanding of Scotland's national practice guidance, 'Realising the Ambition', the Early Years Framework, and Curriculum for Excellence. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Our educational philosophy is rooted in the esteemed Froebelian principles established by Fredrick Froebel. As a Senior Early Years Practitioner, you will be empowered to influence and guide our team, bridging the gap between practice, theory, and policy to reinforce high-quality educational provision and your pivotal leadership role within the setting.

You will offer professional guidance to the workforce, ensuring that all necessary documentation and electronic records are effectively monitored and assessed in collaboration with the child. Leading the planning of a play-based curriculum, you will create rich opportunities for children to express their views during the planning process, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and attitudes needed to thrive in a dynamic world.

As a leader in early childhood education, you will bring the necessary skills and enthusiasm to foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children. You will assist the Nursery Manager in cultivating strong partnerships with families, facilitating open communication and information sharing with all parents and caregivers.

Your responsibilities will also encompass coordinating admissions and ensuring that the GIRFEC principles are integrated into the centre's operations. You will provide guidance to colleagues throughout the Child's Plan process, ensuring that children and families have meaningful opportunities to share their perspectives and, when appropriate, involve external agencies in a collaborative manner.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should possess:

  • An HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Early Learning and Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A professional development qualification demonstrating a commitment to a leadership career pathway.
  • Knowledge of the Early Level Curriculum for Excellence.
  • At least three years' experience working with children aged 0-5.
  • SSSC registration.
  • A commitment to delivering a high-quality Early Years Service.
  • Proficient report writing and record-keeping skills.

At Kibble, we recognize that our staff are the foundation of our organization, always prioritizing the needs of the children and young people in our care with the utmost professionalism and best practices. To support our staff, we offer health and wellbeing services, personal benefits, and opportunities for continuous learning and development.
