Job Title: Occupational Therapist for Children and Young People

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway, working within the CAMHS service with a specific focus on ADHD. This is a new post for the service, requiring drive and enthusiasm to develop this role alongside the Occupational Therapy Team Lead and ADHD CAMHS team.

The post will concentrate on assessment and intervention of children and young people with possible ADHD. You will work closely with the Occupational Therapy for Children and Young People team, who are co-located, providing peer support and operational supervision.

Our main base is at The Willows, a purposely redesigned multi-disciplinary Children and Family's Centre, set in the beautiful Crichton grounds in Dumfries. We provide therapy and support to children and families in community settings across the large, rural region of Dumfries and Galloway.

We work closely with colleagues in health, education, and community services, ensuring that our children and families experience multi-agency practice. We are committed to providing excellent support to our staff, encouraging personal and professional development.

You will need to be flexible, able to prioritize and manage your time effectively. You will be committed to service improvement and work independently while still being part of a dynamic team. A car driver is essential due to the geography of the region.

Dumfries and Galloway is a popular tourist area with scenic coastal and rustic landscapes, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor and cultural activities. Glasgow, Carlisle, and Edinburgh are easily accessible via good road and train links.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and intervention of children and young people with possible ADHD
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapy for Children and Young People team
  • Provide peer support and operational supervision
  • Work in community settings across the rural region of Dumfries and Galloway
  • Collaborate with colleagues in health, education, and community services

Requirements:
