About This Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Co-occurring Conditions Team as a Recovery Worker Trainee. This unique opportunity will provide you with comprehensive training and development over 12-18 months, guiding you towards becoming a skilled and experienced Recovery Worker.
Your Role
- Collaborate closely with service users and multidisciplinary teams to achieve recovery-focused outcomes by promoting visible recovery, harm reduction strategies, and brief interventions.
- Gain valuable experience working within a specialized setting focused on substance misuse and mental health conditions.
- Develop your understanding of local services and empower service users to build their community networks and enhance their recovery capital through collaborative partnerships.
- Contribute to creating a visible and contagious recovery environment within our hub reception areas.
- Shadow experienced team members to facilitate your learning and professional growth.
- Provide harm reduction advice, information, and support encompassing safer drug use practices, mental health management techniques, safer sex education, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, and C prevention, and other bloodborne infections.
Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to recovery-based interventions and harm reduction approaches. A Level 3 NVQ or Diploma in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification in a related field is essential.
