Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Lewisham

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £87 - £100 a day

Job Description:

Empowering Learning is working with a primary mainstream school in Lewisham that is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP. The school is a SEND school, and they are seeking someone who enjoys supporting children's development on a 1:1 basis with a nonverbal child with ASD.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with communication, learning, and independence in a safe and inclusive environment to aid their development. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities and possess patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting pupils with various SEND on a 1:1 basis.
  2. Supervising pupils' behaviour and encouraging positive behaviour in the classroom.
  3. Encouraging and supporting children in their learning and development.
  4. Assisting the teacher in preparing for lessons and planning activities.

Requirements:

  1. Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  2. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
  3. Competitive rates of pay, depending on experience.
  4. A fast clearance process, most of which can be accessed online.
  5. Access to additional training and workshops for free - Exploring SEND, Team Teach, Cover Supervision Training.
