SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are working with an Outstanding primary school in Lewisham that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 team. If you have a passion for supporting SEN pupils and a keen interest in SEN, please read on.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage and progress the learning of SEN pupils, providing individualized support to ensure their academic success.
  2. Collaborate with the school team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Observe and assess children's progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and parents.
  4. Develop innovative strategies to extend pupil learning and promote academic excellence.
  5. Provide one-on-one support to children with dyslexia, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  6. Offer feedback to pupils on their progress and achievement, encouraging them to set and work towards goals.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Previous experience working with pupils with dyslexia.
  3. Knowledge: Understanding of supporting SEN pupils and developing strategies to promote academic success.
  4. Desirable: Experience working with SEN children and a strong passion for SEN education.
