Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our SEND schools and mainstream schools in Camden.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide individualized support to students with a range of needs, including those with moderate learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with the ALS team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic, emotional, and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support and small group support to students with SEND
  • Work with the ALS team to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Support students with EHCPs to achieve their academic and personal goals
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children or adults with disabilities and learning difficulties
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups with students with varying needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude
  • Ability to commit to a full-time role on a long-term basis
