About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join our operations team at Equinix. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the facility infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to identify potential issues
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out on site infrastructure, including primary systems, and manage the permit to work system
  • Carry out repairs and corrective maintenance on equipment, and prepare and execute planned maintenance
  • Complete site logs and data gathering, including MOPs and scripts, to ensure accurate records
  • Assist senior staff with responding to on-site incidents and act as directed
  • Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and carry out small works projects, such as lighting upgrades

Requirements

  • ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous data centre/critical environment experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generator, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems
  • Self-motivated and flexible individual
