About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (CYP-IDVA) to join our team in Rochdale. As a CYP-IDVA, you will play a vital role in providing specialist support to children and young people aged 4-17 who have experienced domestic violence abuse in the home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments to ensure each child or young person receives an individualized support package that meets their identified needs.
  • Advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse to ensure their diverse needs are met.
  • Provide one-to-one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.
  • Review risk assessments on an ongoing basis and take appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Establish links with relevant statutory partners, including Social Care, Education, Health, Police, and Housing, to support children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.
Requirements
  • Background in Social Work, Domestic Abuse, or Children and Young People services is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong advocacy and support skills.
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding procedures and policies.
