Salary

We offer a competitive salary of £24,627 pro rata (£12,313.50 per annum) plus 10% Night Allowance, reflecting our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.

Job Description

As an Empowering Care Specialist in our Rochdale team, you'll play a critical role in empowering our customers to live independent, fulfilling, and dignified lives in our Independent Living services. Your duties will include:

  1. Providing assistance to residents in need of physical personal care during the night, ensuring dignity and privacy is upheld
  2. Recognising and addressing distress, and identifying and assessing positive ways to reduce it
  3. Encouraging independence in residents, wherever possible
  4. Actively participating in specified care management programmes
  5. Providing assistance with laundry and helping customers with catering skills

Required Skills and Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

  1. An optimistic, flexible, and non-judgemental approach
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  3. Experience working in a customer-focused environment, within a residential setting, with a diverse client group of vulnerable adults
  4. Basic administrative skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  5. Awareness of housing, health, and safety legislation, and regulations

About the Role

As an Empowering Care Specialist, you'll work collaboratively as part of a committed team to deliver an outstanding experience to customers, while being supported by your colleagues and Line Manager. Your role will involve:

  1. Recognising and identifying each individual customer's needs, to ensure they receive a person-centred approach, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do
  2. Enabling customers to meet the aspirations within their individual support plans, while keeping up-to-date information on their changing needs
  3. Helping customers with daily activities, domestic support, and assisting with preparation of meals, snacks, and drinks, while ensuring they maintain as much independence as possible
  4. Safely helping with customers' mobility, including the use of assessed equipment, aids, or other manual handling equipment
  5. Supporting customers with administering medication
  6. Providing personal care and support to customers, in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) definitions, including helping customers to maintain their personal hygiene, appearance, and physical wellbeing
