Senior Practitioner - Children in Care Team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a complex caseload, including children at risk and subject to care proceedings, to drive up the quality of practice and partnerships across the town and its services.
  • Gather information, complete professional assessments, and critically analyse data to promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of children and young people.
  • Undertake statutory duties under The Children Act and other legislation, including care proceedings, risk assessments, and investigations.
  • Liaise with professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people, building positive relationships through participation and direct work.
  • Take personal responsibility for professional development, reflective practice, and ongoing training through the Social Work Academy and Research in Practice.
Requirements:
  • Strong social work background and experience in child protection and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
