As a specialist physiotherapist, you will work within a clinical area, providing autonomous professional support and supervision, or collaborating with a senior physiotherapist for complex cases.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, and treatment plans to deliver effective interventions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, adjusting according to the individual's response, multidisciplinary team discussions, and other influencing factors.
- Ensure treatment plans are informed by best evidence and practice guidelines.
- Provide specialist professional advice and support, using complex clinical problem-solving.
- Engage in a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team.
- Work proactively as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural/neuropsychological model.
- Deliver specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and well-being.
- Work safely with individuals with challenging behaviours, such as verbal and physical aggression, mental health disorders, and sexual inhibition.
- Participate in setting multidisciplinary team goals, adhering to Brainkind's goal setting guidelines.
- Identify and safely use relevant physiotherapeutic equipment, devices, and interventions, referring to other services when necessary.
- Capture outcomes of treatment, using Brainkind's standardized measures.
- Ensure timely completion of Brainkind's outcome measure database, and that the local team is doing so.
- Effectively manage time and caseload within a potentially pressurized environment.
- Prioritize workload and instruct, support, and delegate tasks to physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
- Understand and comply with responsibilities regarding risk management and safeguarding.
