Main Tasks and Responsibilities

As a specialist physiotherapist, you will work within a clinical area, providing autonomous professional support and supervision, or collaborating with a senior physiotherapist for complex cases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, and treatment plans to deliver effective interventions.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans, adjusting according to the individual's response, multidisciplinary team discussions, and other influencing factors.
  3. Ensure treatment plans are informed by best evidence and practice guidelines.
  4. Provide specialist professional advice and support, using complex clinical problem-solving.
  5. Engage in a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team.
  6. Work proactively as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural/neuropsychological model.
  7. Deliver specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and well-being.
  8. Work safely with individuals with challenging behaviours, such as verbal and physical aggression, mental health disorders, and sexual inhibition.
  9. Participate in setting multidisciplinary team goals, adhering to Brainkind's goal setting guidelines.
  10. Identify and safely use relevant physiotherapeutic equipment, devices, and interventions, referring to other services when necessary.
  11. Capture outcomes of treatment, using Brainkind's standardized measures.
  12. Ensure timely completion of Brainkind's outcome measure database, and that the local team is doing so.
  13. Effectively manage time and caseload within a potentially pressurized environment.
  14. Prioritize workload and instruct, support, and delegate tasks to physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
  15. Understand and comply with responsibilities regarding risk management and safeguarding.
