Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team in Dudley Palliative, Cancer & Bereavement Services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working in palliative, cancer, and bereavement services, either in a training or qualified post.

About the Role

The Clinical Health Psychology Service is a team of psychologists, therapists, and counsellors who aim to assist people in adapting to and developing creative solutions for physical health problems. As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy to individuals referred to the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy to individuals with complex and contentious mental health conditions.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that psychological perspectives are taken into account across the service.
  • Develop and implement highly specialist psychological therapies for individual clients, carers, families, and groups.
  • Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
  • HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
  • Experience of working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service, including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
