Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior Ecommerce Trading Executive is a critical position within our team, working closely with the Ecommerce Trading Manager and cross-functional teams to drive business growth and deliver exceptional results. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the daily trading performance of our website and delivering an outstanding onsite customer experience.

About Us

The Sports Edit is a leading women's activewear retailer, building a strong brand presence in the UK market. We curate a range of brands, from leading labels to challenger brands, and are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Trading:

  • Utilize trading tools to identify and optimize site navigation, search, and customer journeys across devices.
  • Analyze and report on key online metrics using Google Analytics, identifying opportunities to optimize site performance and conversion across devices.
  • Own key conversion metrics such as add to cart rate, UPT, engagement rate, and bounce rates.
  • Responsible for overall site merchandising, analyzing customer behavior using heat map tools, GA data, and managing search and merchandising tools to optimize landing pages.
  • Conduct daily site walks to identify site issues across devices and browsers.

Site Content:

  • Oversee briefing and creation of site assets.
  • Work alongside the Ecommerce Trading Executive to optimize key landing pages using the search and merchandising tool and support the delivery of key campaigns on site.
  • Oversee the product launch schedule, working with the Buying and Merchandising teams and Ecommerce Assistant to ensure products are prepared to go live on time.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Buying and Merchandising teams to align and deliver promotions and key campaigns on site.

Tech Stack & Development:

  • Support the Ecommerce Trading Manager in development sprints, running post-development testing.
  • Work with the Ecommerce Trading Manager to monitor and review the existing tech stack to enhance app performance and optimize functionality.

SEO:

  • Manage the SEO dashboard, providing weekly and monthly reporting, analyzing keyword performance, site speed, site crawls, and top organic pages on site.
  • Brief actions to internal teams for site changes, development briefs, and content briefs.
  • Develop a quarterly content strategy to support rankings, conducting keyword research on topic areas and keyword themes, and providing SEO briefs to content writers.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing Shopify or other CMS platforms.
  • Strong trading understanding and analytical insight, with experience using Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • Comfortable using and acting on data to optimize site performance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Ecommerce Executive or Trading role, with a willingness to push personal professional development to the next level.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, with the ability to develop strong trust-based relationships.
  • A strong mix of analytical, commercial focus, and communication skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Strong academic background.
  • A passion for fitness and wellbeing.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding or experience in SEO.
  • Knowledge of HTML and basic online content editing, with a technical mindset.
