Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Workshop Specialist to join our team at Simpson Booth Limited. As an Electrical Workshop Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our electrical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, including testing and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct inventory and stock checks to ensure that all necessary materials and tools are available.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of electrical systems prior to deployment.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company quality, health, and safety policies.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure that the workshop area is kept clean, organized, and safe.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety, demonstrating safe behaviors and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Perform other related duties as required, which may include working with ROV equipment and sensors.
Requirements
  • Industrial electrical experience, preferably with voltages up to 440 Volts AC.
  • Understanding of 3-phase electrical switchgear, including fault diagnosis.
  • Build and test of 3-phase electrical panels.
  • Experience with Hydraulic Power Units, including testing and fault diagnosis of electrical components.
  • Good standard of practical application and knowledge of Electrical/Electronic principles and components.
  • Able to assemble, test, and maintain Electrical/Electronic systems, components, and circuitry following engineering instructions, technical manuals, and drawings.
  • Good understanding of problem-solving and capable of identifying and rectifying problems with Electronic/Electrical systems.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and follow wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM manuals, and engineering instructions.
  • Aware of principles, techniques, procedures, and the use of equipment required for the repair and maintenance of various ROV and associated sub-systems.
Qualifications and Certification
  • ONC/HNC/Apprenticeship/City and Guilds within an Electronic/Electrical discipline.
  • Time-served industry experience within an Electronic/Electrical role.
  • Recognized High Voltage Training, High Voltage Switchgear awareness is desirable.
Experience
  • Maintenance, servicing, and testing of Electrical/Electronic equipment in a workshop/offshore environment.
  • Experience with hand tools, test equipment, and workshop environments.
  • Experience of wiring, testing, and fault diagnosis of electric motor starter panels and switchgear is desirable.
  • Working with ROV equipment/sensors is desirable.
