About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our growing engineering team and support our rental fleet on a permanent staff basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating, maintaining, and servicing equipment including Electric/Diesel/Pneumatic Hydraulic Power Units, Umbilical Reelers, Spooling Units, High Pressure Pump Units, and Mechanical handling equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Work within the rentals department to support the service, maintenance, modification, mobilization, and demobilization of offshore equipment.
  2. Project manage the build of standard new rental assets.
  3. Project manage the service of equipment, ranging from annual maintenance work to complete 5-year overhauls.
  4. Liaise directly with clients to assist with technical support during mobilization and project phases.
  5. Troubleshoot faults with equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  6. Use Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD to carry out modifications to existing designs.
  7. Ensure key documentation is correct and up to date for rental equipment, including Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
  8. Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests on new hire equipment.
  9. Carry out demonstrations of equipment to clients.
  10. Carry out basic calculations such as umbilical weights, drum sizing, and HPU Power.

Essential Requirements

  1. You must be a driven team player with excellent attention to detail and a passion for engineering.
  2. A minimum of 5 years' experience post-apprenticeship working on the mentioned equipment.
  3. Highly competent in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  4. Able to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
  5. Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD, and having experience with working on Electric/Diesel/Pneumatic Hydraulic Power Units, Umbilical Reelers, Spooling Units, High Pressure Pump Units, and Mechanical handling equipment.

Desirable Skills

  1. HNC/HND qualification.
  2. Competent with Autodesk Inventor.
  3. Competent with Microsoft Project.
  4. Understanding of electrical systems.
