About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Young People service in Maidenhead. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to customers to help them develop life skills and achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Monitor and assess the needs of customers and provide creative and tailored person-centred support.
  • Work closely with statutory children's services and other external agencies to best support customers and promote social inclusion.
  • Empower and encourage customers to maximise their skills and choices.
  • Conduct regular key work sessions to achieve Support Plan goals.
  • Proactively manage risk and safety in and outside of the physical living environment.
  • Provide support with daily living activities and ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
  • Develop links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide engagement opportunities for customers.
  • Involve customers in the design, development, and delivery of the service.
  • Monitor rent arrears and ensure effective rent account management.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in the social care/charity sector.
  • Ability to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviours.
  • Understanding of mental health difficulties and therapeutic methods of support.
  • Knowledge of gang culture and the risks and support needs associated with gang affiliation.
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic models.
