About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Technology Officer to join our team at British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS). As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering our technology strategy, ensuring that our digital infrastructure, IT services, and cybersecurity measures are robust, innovative, and aligned with our goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports our vision and mission.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of IT policies, manage technology resources, and ensure that our systems and processes are fit for purpose, secure, and scalable.
  • Provide expert advice on IT-related matters, from digital transformation to information governance, to the C-Suite and Board.
  • Foster strong relationships with other leaders and stakeholders, enabling BPAS to leverage technology for improved service delivery, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Play a key role in developing BPAS's digital culture, ensuring that our teams are engaged, informed, and supported in adopting new technologies.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare IT systems, including electronic health records (EHR), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), and healthcare information exchange (HIE).
  • Current expertise of successful implementation of machine learning and AI solutions highly advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of information security and data privacy principles in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing technology strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience of supplier and contract management in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing large IM&T procurements, including contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrable experience of producing and presenting business cases for IT investment, including examples of successfully gaining funding approval.
