Amentum is a leading provider of technical and engineering services, with a strong focus on safety and ethics. We are currently seeking a Nuclear Fire Safety Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of nuclear fire safety assessment capability and delivery support to programmes, projects, and wider Amentum UK growth aspiration.
  • Act in a nuclear fire safety assessment role required for project support, including assisting programme and project radiation transport leads.
  • Identify, implement, review, and monitor Amentum and programme-specific management and technical arrangements to support delivery.
  • Prepare and coordinate assessment and analysis delivery for projects, interfacing with engineering, project management, project controls, and document management functions.
  • Advise Amentum leadership, engineering, programme, and project management, and clients on regulatory compliance, standards, and guidance.
Requirements:
  • Ideal degree (or equivalent education).
  • Proven experience of nuclear fire safety assessment, principally nuclear safety assessment and conventional fire safety assessment and management.
  • Experience of application of codes and assessment in a wide range of operations and fault scenarios.
  • Experience in two or more UK Nuclear Site Licensee Organisations.
  • Knowledge of conventional fire safety assessment.
  • Experience of managing staff and contractors.
  • Knowledge of a range of nuclear hazard identification and analytical tools.
  • Solid understanding of UK nuclear site licensing, safety assessment principles, regulatory guidance on safety assessment, and nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory permissioning/flexible permissioning.
  • Ability to gain and retain Security Clearance and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting.
  • Travel will be required, up to several days at a time in the UK and occasional overseas travel.
