Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Despatch Team Leader to join our team at Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the despatch team and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the despatch process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the despatch team to maximize output and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Drive the team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Distribute labor resources to smooth out production peaks and troughs
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for invoices and deliveries
  • Provide support for quality systems and ensure compliance with ISO and BRCGS requirements
  • Update training records and ensure all training needs are met
  • Report accidents and incidents to the appropriate personnel
  • Conduct daily checks of forklift trucks (FLTs) to ensure safe operation
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and site requirements for FLT use
  • Conduct monthly stock takes to achieve high accuracy
  • Perform personnel formalities, such as return to work interviews
  • Adhere to and promote departmental housekeeping schedules
  • Provide daily shift reports to the despatch manager
  • Contribute to departmental continuous improvement efforts and project work

Requirements

  • Valid FLT license
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Numerate and computer literate
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Able to work unsupervised and under own initiative
  • Works well within a team-based environment

  • Salary of £33,000
  • Shift pattern working 5 days, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
