Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our team at Hummingbird, Glasgow. As an Apprentice Chef, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your culinary skills under the guidance of our experienced chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting Delicious Dishes: Assist in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that meet our culinary standards.
  • Food Quality Control: Inspect and store deliveries to ensure that all ingredients meet our quality standards.
  • Kitchen Station Rotation: Work across various kitchen stations, including starters, main courses, and desserts, to gain a comprehensive understanding of our menu.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Absorb knowledge from our experienced chefs and take notes to improve your skills.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with the Back and Front of House teams to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience.
  • Apprenticeship Progress: Stay on top of your coursework and impress your assessor to achieve your culinary goals.

What You'll Be Cooking Up:

As part of your apprenticeship, you will work towards the Food Production Level 5 SVQ, a qualification that will transform you from a kitchen novice to a culinary master. With hands-on experience and guidance from our chefs, you will tackle various milestones, from initial assessments to final reviews.
