About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support and guide young people aged 10 to 18 in a secure accommodation setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for young people with additional learning needs across the curriculum.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess learning activities in consultation with curriculum leads.
  • Lead a team of care practitioners to support the daily lives of young people with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Actively engage with and mentor young people, helping them develop both academically and personally.
Requirements
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, email, internet, and database programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Experience working with challenging behavior in a residential or educational environment.
  • A commitment to restorative and trauma-informed practices.
  • A Level 4 qualification in education delivery (or commitment to achieve it).
  • A solid understanding of child and adolescent development, child protection, and safeguarding policies.
