Senior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer

A leading organisation in Edinburgh is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for driving creativity and innovation in security capabilities, ensuring the highest level of defensive security measures are in place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve security capabilities, leveraging automation to enhance speed and efficiency of detection.
  • Support security infrastructure and tooling across technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, XDR, AV, NDR, and VM.
  • Deliver cybersecurity expertise across the business, leading/supporting security and business change projects.
  • Act as a cybersecurity champion, building awareness amongst employees of different security risks and best practices.
  • Assist in investigations into security alerts and participate in the cyber security incident response team (CSIRT).
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a cybersecurity role at an enterprise level organisation or consultancy organisation.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems administration (RedHat or CentOS) and Windows Server, understanding underlying infrastructure and potential security weak points.
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Security or technical certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, Security+, SC-200, CySA+, CCNA, AZ500, RHCSA.
