Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized FOI and Access to Health Records Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing requests for medical records in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Health Records Act (HRA) 1990.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage FOI requests from receipt to completion, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Process requests for medical records, including paper and electronic records, and ensure confidentiality and data protection.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prioritize and manage workload, ensuring urgent requests are addressed promptly.
  • Discern complex requests involving safeguarding matters and seek advice from the FOI and A2HR Team Leader as necessary.
  • Be aware of new requests received throughout the day and prioritize accordingly.
  • Work in an organized manner, managing multiple requests simultaneously and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Understand and apply the principles of data protection and access to health records, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the office, suggesting improvements and working collaboratively with the team.
