Realise Education is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in secondary educational institutions.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about fostering the growth and development of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring their engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to create and execute tailored educational plans (IEPs) for each student.
- Offer individualized and group support, modifying teaching approaches and resources as necessary.
- Foster a supportive learning atmosphere that promotes students' social and emotional growth.
- Assist with personal care requirements, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility, when necessary.
- Engage with parents and guardians to ensure effective communication and support for the students' overall development.
- Track and document students' progress, maintaining thorough and current records.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance expertise in special education.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in an educational environment.
- Familiarity with various learning challenges and disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and communication difficulties.
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and techniques for assisting students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to cultivate an inclusive and nurturing educational setting.
- Capacity to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of each student.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Additional certifications or training in special education or related disciplines.
