Job Title: Labour Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labour Ward Manager to join our team at University Hospital Lewisham. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Labour Ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care to women and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional leadership and line management for a team of midwives and support staff
  • Assess patients, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based care
  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure patient pathways are optimally managed
  • Champion a culture of learning and quality improvement in the clinical area
Requirements:
  • 1st level Registered Midwife with current NMC Registration
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Evidence of on-going professional development in a nursing field of practice
  • Practice Assessor / Sign off mentorship course
Desirable:
  • Recognised leadership development training
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent
  • Care of the Critically ill woman/birthing person course or working towards it
  • Examination of the Newborn course or working towards it
