Position Overview
Northumbrian Water is dedicated to delivering exceptional water and wastewater services throughout the North East, as well as providing drinking water to customers in select areas of Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk. Our commitment to managing water resources is paramount, especially in regions facing the UK's most challenging climatic conditions.
As a Water Resource Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role within our proactive Water Resources Team. This team is tasked with both immediate operational management and strategic long-term planning of water resources across our operational territories.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the preparation and submission of essential regulatory data and reports.
- Contributing to the development of regional water resource plans and our company’s Water Resources Management Plans (WRMP).
- Assisting in the creation of Supply Demand Balance Index (SDBI) submissions and various annual reviews.
- Compiling weekly resource data to facilitate effective short-term water resource management.
- Assessing Target Headroom and Outage Allowance, along with operational data to inform long-term planning.
In addition, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing demand and supply data, populating planning tables, and preparing comprehensive supply-demand balance presentations. Your role will also involve supporting the ongoing review and updates of our Drought Plans, ensuring they remain effective and relevant.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be self-driven, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills. A high level of numeracy and experience in data analysis and presentation is essential. You should be capable of articulating complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with industry best practices is crucial in this role. A degree in a scientific or numerical discipline is required, and familiarity with regulatory reporting and water resource planning principles will be advantageous.
Collaboration and teamwork are key, as you will work closely with colleagues to enhance data collection and assessment processes, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity are maintained.
A valid driving license is necessary for travel to various office locations as required.
