About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the internal Infrastructure Engineering Team and Architecture Team to understand the strategy and pipeline of upcoming projects.
  • Configure and manage cloud infrastructure and services such as Azure.
  • Monitor system and performance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, including provisioning and configuring virtual machines, containers, and storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in operational infrastructure teams.
  • Document process and procedures to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Work actively in building cloud infrastructure closely with Infrastructure Engineering Team.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and partners to implement solutions and modernize working methods.
Requirements
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Solid understanding around scripting and the IAC, Github, Terraform environment.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security controls at the infrastructure level.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to solve real-world technology challenges.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and an analytical approach to challenges.
  • Meticulous and deadline-conscious.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another relevant field or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification
  • ITIL Foundation v3/v4
