Job Overview

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly experienced Associate Director to join their Senior Management Team in Sheffield. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the nationwide design team and driving the strategic direction of the design department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical lead of the nationwide design team, overseeing the design of structures and approvals for others' designs.
  2. Day-to-day operational lead for the design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects.
  3. Mentoring team members towards Chartership and beyond, fostering a culture of professional development.
  4. Preparation of fee proposals, actively contributing to the growth and profitability of the team.
  5. Assisting in the strategic direction of the design team, driving innovation and excellence in structural engineering.
  6. Attending client meetings, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
  7. Carrying out site inspections, where required, to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
  8. Driving profitability of the team, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  9. Active business development, identifying new business opportunities and partnerships.
  10. Assisting in the recruitment process for new technical staff, ensuring the team's skills and expertise are aligned with business needs.

Requirements

  1. Degree-qualified Civil/Structural Engineer with extensive structural design experience.
  2. Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer MIStructE or MICE, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  3. Historic Buildings experience is advantageous, as is multi-storey building design experience and proficiency in most building materials.
  4. Expert Witness experience would be desirable, as would remedial works for buildings insurance.
