Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team as the operational and technical lead for the design team in our Sheffield office. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, attending site inspections and site meetings, and preparing structural design calculations across various market sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational and technical lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching, and mentoring
  • Prepare structural design calculations across a range of market sectors, including residential, educational, commercial, rail infrastructure, and industrial
  • Deliver projects ranging from small residential properties to large commercial projects, ensuring commercial success, driving utilisation, and profitability
  • Assist with business development to drive growth of the team, including the development of the design team and providing progress reports
  • Ensure adherence to contractual/client SLA's and KPI's

Requirements:

  • Several years' structural design experience
  • Knowledge of industry-standard software
  • A general understanding of structures and materials, including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental impact of building structures, including a working knowledge of embodied carbon calculations
  • A good knowledge of Health & Safety in respect of construction activities
  • MICE or MIStructE chartered status, desirable but not essential
