Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MSK Physiotherapist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a First Contact Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and providing expert screening, assessment, and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver innovative models of care within Primary Care, working closely with GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide frontline expert screening, assessment, and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate clinical pathway.
  • Assess, investigate, and manage patients with musculoskeletal problems, diverting to the Community MSK service as needed.
  • Work as a key member of the Primary Care Team, becoming fully integrated within your allocated Primary Care Network (PCN).
  • Participate in weekly Clinical Governance sessions, providing ongoing clinical and personal support, and contributing to the development of the MSK service.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following essential criteria:

  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of relevant MSK specialist postgraduate training
  • Experience of working alongside specialist clinicians within a relevant clinical specialty
  • Willingness to undertake further training as required, such as a PGCert for MSK Practitioner

Desirable criteria include relevant validated clinical courses, relevant Post-Grad MSc modules in FCP or MSK, and a minimum of 5-6 years postgraduate clinical experience.
