Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the design and implementation of carbon capture and mineral processing systems.
  • Manage the transition of equipment from laboratory settings to commercial applications.
  • Improve the efficiency and productivity of chemical processing operations.
  • Examine process kinetics under diverse operational conditions.
  • Model airflow dynamics and moisture evaporation to optimize environmental conditions.
  • Simulate and assess chemical reactions and operational processes.
  • Conduct experiments to verify and integrate reaction chemistry with process engineering.
  • Oversee the setup and functioning of laboratory and pilot plant equipment.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team to create groundbreaking solutions.
  • Analyze data to detect and rectify process inconsistencies.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive process records, including standard operating procedures and engineering schematics.
  • Identify and implement innovative process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's or PhD preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial research and process scaling.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a pilot plant or industrial environment.
  • Experience in sectors such as cement, concrete, coatings, mining, pharmaceuticals, food processing, or carbon capture.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, material drying, fluid dynamics, mass transfer, and process regulation.
  • Proficient understanding of process design, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Ability to devise safe and cost-effective processes for material handling and separation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Experience in project management, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • A genuine passion for combating climate change and optimizing chemical processes.
