We are looking for a dedicated Technical Office Advisor who will play a crucial role in providing expert technical guidance and support to our operational teams. This position involves making informed decisions regarding urgent tasks within the Waste Networks sector at Thames Water.
Key Responsibilities
- Authorize and oversee both scheduled and emergency work related to the waste network, ensuring a balance between operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage both urgent and complex planned technical operations to maximize effectiveness while minimizing disruption to customers.
- Deliver technical assistance to a diverse range of stakeholders through various communication channels.
- Support field teams in achieving a 'first time fix' wherever feasible.
- Assist field teams in addressing incidents such as pollution events, flooding, blockages, and infrastructure failures by ensuring accurate triage and providing appropriate guidance.
- This role operates in a hybrid model, combining remote work with responsibilities at the Customer Solutions Centre.
- Opportunities to engage with field offices to foster relationships and enhance knowledge alongside operational teams.
- Work hours consist of 36 hours per week, including a mix of early, mid, late, and weekend shifts.
- Knowledge of drainage and waste management systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Minimum of A level education or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proven track record of building effective stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of challenges and follow through to resolution.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded and maintained.
- Proficient in using relevant IT systems and office software, as this role requires strong IT competency.
- History of achieving exceptional results.

- Competitive salary up to £35,000 per annum, based on experience.
