Job Title: Maintenance/Shift Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance/Shift Engineer to join our team at a leading FMCG manufacturer. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for conducting preventative and reactive maintenance on plant machinery, dealing with break downs, and working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.

About the Role:

  • Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance on plant machinery
  • Dealing with break downs and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure smooth operation of the plant
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance or engineering role
  • A formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical or mechanical subject
  • Nationally recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
  • 17th or 18th Edition Certification
  • Proven experience of working within the food industry
  • Experience of working in a bakery environment is preferable
  • Exposure to metal detectors, mixers, depositors, and flow wrappers would be an advantage
  • Extensive experience in carrying out and analysing breakdowns
  • Health and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene trained
  • Experience in managing contractors on-site

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a warm environment with varying temperatures
  • Physical fitness to perform manual handling and working at height
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work 12-hour shift patterns, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Some business travel may be required
