Manual Machinist / Machine Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist / Machine Technician to join our team at Verto People. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual lathes and mills to produce and repair precision parts for various mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual lathes and mills to produce and repair precision parts for blowers, pumps, ancillaries, compressors, vacuum systems, and similar products.
  • Perform accurate centre lathe turning for component manufacturing and repair.
  • Use metrology equipment to ensure precise measurement and compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct repairs, maintenance, and installations on mechanical systems, including blower and vacuum pump systems.
  • Participate in training for additional skills, such as thermal spraying and welding, to expand expertise.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
Requirements:
  • Experience with manual lathes, manual machine tools, mechanical assemblies, and metrology equipment.
  • Proven experience with manual machine tools such as lathes and mills, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using metrology equipment for precision measurement.
  • Apprenticeship or engineering qualification in mechanical or machining disciplines is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift to 25kg and perform repetitive tasks, with a focus on safety and quality.

Package: £34,000 - £37,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company shares scheme, pension, healthcare, and additional benefits.
