**Job Summary**

Wood is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Discipline Manager for Automation and Controls to join our EMEA Systems Integration business. This is a new position as part of our continued growth plans.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage a team of Discipline Team Leads and their direct reports to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the Automation and Controls department.
  • Develop and implement discipline engineering resources and governance of discipline practices and procedures.
  • Act as a discipline subject matter expert to support and drive engineering excellence across the wider organization.
  • Lead by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company's values and behaviors, role modeling commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behavior, and creating an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

**Requirements**

  • ISCED Level 6 / Bachelor's (minimum) or Level 7 / Master's (preferred) degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body / Professional Engineer License or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Extensive broad and deep experience of engineering delivery in one or more relevant industry sectors.
  • Expert-level experience and understanding of discipline engineering tools and processes.
  • Broad understanding of the business drivers for relevant industry sector clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to attract top talent to meet current and future business needs.
  • Experienced in developing talent using coaching, mentoring, and formal performance processes.

**Working Arrangements**

This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK, with mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues expected.

Applicants must be able to pass the HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
