About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our team at Sanctuary Care. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and nutrition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chef Manager in preparing and cooking meals for residents, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are in good working order.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that meals are prepared and served on time, meeting the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, ensuring that all procedures are followed at all times.
  • Participate in menu planning and preparation, ensuring that meals are nutritious and appealing to our residents.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment, preferably in a care home setting.
  • Valid food hygiene certificate and a willingness to maintain a high level of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, including working varied shifts and weekends.
