About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our busy and active team at our food manufacturing facility in Barton Upon Humber. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a team of shift engineers, ensuring the delivery of scheduled work and reactive work, and maintaining, installing, and improving the performance of processing equipment across the Bakkavor Barton Bread site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work, optimizing plant availability
  • Implement agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs
  • Comply with statutory and Bakkavor Health and Safety requirements, ensuring reports work in a safe manner
  • Ensure engineering downtime is minimized, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time
  • Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area, highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager
  • Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer

About You

We are looking for a strong people manager with a multi-skilled background, experience in completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity, and small installations. You should have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training. A thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems is essential, as well as a professional attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm.
