As the leading third-party optical transceivers supplier, Halo serves a diverse clientele from its operational bases across the USA, Europe, and Asia.

We are seeking a qualified and driven Financial Controller to join our finance team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of two finance assistants, ensuring the efficient daily operations of the UK finance department, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102. The role involves analyzing data and trends to provide valuable insights that facilitate informed business decisions and cost management.

This role will be based in the UK and will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the primary UK trading entity.
  • Oversee accounting operations and processes, ensuring that strong financial systems and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Lead the audit of UK statutory accounts and the preparation of financial statements, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP and FRS 102.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures monthly to assist in budget control.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for the EMEA region, along with monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to budget.
  • Compile information for UK corporation tax returns and assist in preparing forecasts for quarterly tax obligations as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Amphenol corporate policies and fulfill monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Review monthly payroll and coordinate with the HR Manager to ensure timely salary payments and compliance with employer-related tax obligations.
  • Submit annual payroll returns and review necessary submissions.
  • Prepare and review VAT, Intrastat, and EC sales list reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of the monthly payment run.

Additional Group Reporting Tasks:

  • Conduct a secondary review of monthly payroll.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting, which may include due diligence assignments.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (preferably ACA / ACCA).
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to provide meaningful insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
