Culinary Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Team Lead to join our team at Heaton School. As a key member of our Catering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of catering staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of catering staff to prepare and cook meals for students, ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety guidelines.
- Develop and implement menu plans, taking into account nutritional standards and dietary requirements.
- Manage stock levels, ordering and receiving deliveries, and maintaining accurate records.
- Supervise and train catering staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Collaborate with the school's management team to ensure the catering service meets the needs of students and staff.
- Monitor and report on kitchen performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of leading a team and delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
